Great news from Frankfort: Protective Order Legislation Passes the House!

February 19, 2015

Last week, the Kentucky House of Representatives voted on House Bill 8 (HB8) and passed the bill unanimously! Passing this bill through the House is a huge step towards prevention and protection for dating and domestic violence.

HB8 allows for victims of domestic violence, dating violence and stalking to file for interpersonal protective orders. The Bill is now on its way to the Senate for consideration by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

House Bill 8 is sponsored by House Judiciary Chairman John Tilley, D-Hopkinsville, and Representative Joni Jenkins, D-Shively.
